Urban Outfitters Crop Top | Urban Outfitters Jean Shorts | Madewell Bandana | Birkenstocks | Gap Tie Dye Shorts
I hope you all had a wonderful Independence Day with your loved ones! I was fortunate enough to have a few days off from work and spend some time at our family cabin in Minnesota. We spent the weekend swimming, tubing, skiing, boating, grilling out, and watching the fireworks! Here is a look at some of my patriotic outfits that I threw together! Urban Outfitters was my go-to this year for some casual but cute pieces to show off my red, white, and blue!
Shop Raga Cutout Dress | Shop Raga Embroidered Maxi Dress | Madewell Bandana | Birkenstocks |
Last month I took a mini vacation to Scottsdale, AZ. We spent most of our days in the pool or hiking mountains but spent a lot of time in Old Town experiencing the night life. One of my favorite things to throw on for a night on the town was a maxi dress, particularly one of my Shop Raga maxis. In my opinion, maxi dresses are one of the most comfortable outfits yet super easy to dress up for an effortlessly chic look. These two dresses have definitely continued to be my “go to’ dresses this summer!

This winter season I have really been into statement jackets and coats. One of my favorite places to find a new piece of outerwear is my mom’s coat closet. This lady may have more coats than anyone else I know. The one that I am wearing in these pictures caught my eye on this day because it was warm as could be and we were about to go out into the woods when the windchill was -30 degrees. It wasn’t until my mom saw me wearing the coat until I found out how special it really was. It happens to be my great grandma’s coat from the 60s. It has been passed down to my mom who wears it now (along with me). It is so special to me that the coat has remained in the family. Some of my favorite pieces of clothing are the ones that hold memories. I always think about when I wore certain clothing and it makes me think back to some of my happiest days. Wearing this coat makes me think of my great grandma and the wonderful lady she was and that makes me pretty happy as well.
My tip to you is to wear clothes that make you happy!
THML Poncho | Big Star Jeans (sold out) | Anthropologie Hat (sold out) (similar) | Anthropologie Clutch (similar)| Earth Brand Booties
There is something special about walking to class beneath the changing trees with the smell of fall in the air. Besides the beauty all around us, I never get tired of the warm layers that top off any outfit during the Autumn months. As the mornings are getting colder it is important to add a few extra layers to stay warm and make your strolls enjoyable. Since ponchos became all the rage last year I have built quite a collection. However, the one I am wearing above has the cutest details. It has a higher neckline with a suede drawstring to add just enough detail to complete this classic look. Ponchos are so cozy and they are an easy statement piece to pair with skinny jeans or leggings for a very fashion forward look. To mix it up even more I like to pair my ponchos with a suede or denim skirt and tights for a funky look! Stay cozy this season and make sure to add a statement poncho to your wardrobe!
Dezzal Wool Coat | Romeo & Juliet Jeans (sold out) | Free People Turtleneck (sold out) (similar) | Saddle Bag (thrifted) | Earth Brand Booties
As the temperature drops during these fall months I always love a fun coat to bundle up in. This coat from Dezzal is adorable with its intricate detailing and balance of fall colors. Statement coats or even simple textured coats are an easy way to stay warm and look cute even if you are only wearing a t-shirt and jeans underneath. Layering is a way to create your own flare and up the style level on any outfit. This wool coat is a great way to do just that. Remember it is all in the detailing, so if you find a piece that has ornate detailing like no other, you may just have to add it to your wardrobe!
White Crow Sun Dance Flannel | Romeo & Juliet Jeans (sold out) | Camel Suede Jacket (thrifted) | Saddle Bag (thrifted) | Nordstrom Hat (similar) | Free People Necklace (similar)
I am so excited that fall is here and it is time for me to break out my flannels and funky jackets. This edgy, vintage style flannel from White Crow is definitely my newest fall favorite. This is mostly because of how cute it is with the subtle ombre dip it has to it but also because of how extremely comfortable the top is. When I first laid hands on this flannel I wanted to use it as a blanket it was SO soft. What’s better than looking and feeling confident in the cooler months than looking good AND being cozy? Flannels are definitely a staple that everyone should have in their fall wardrobe. I am so excited to rock this eclectic one from White Crow this season.
Next, I wanted to thank Garret Super for this fun photo shoot we had a few weeks ago. I am excited to share with you some rad pictures we took at the Conservatory at Como Park. He even let me ride the carousel alone embracing my inner child. I love the quote from Walt Disney himself, “Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional.” Remember to let yourself live your life and don’t always care about what others might think. Enjoy this beautiful fall weather!
Xhilaration Overalls (thrifted) | Brandy Melville Tank (similar) | Birkenstock Sandals
Who would’ve thought I would ever be wearing overalls again after my mom forced me to wear a pair in the early 2000s when they were in the front window of Limited Too? Well folks, they’re back, and I’m not complaining now. These overalls are my new favorite go-to this summer! They are comfortable and somehow look put-together when you pair them with a cute tank or graphic “t.” I definitely thought they would be uncomfortable for me, since I’m over 6 feet tall, but I scored on a recent thrifting haul. If you have hesitated with this new trend, don’t wait any longer and buy yourself a pair. You will not regret them.
Also shoutout to this awesome old pickup that my sister and I found in an abandoned yard in northern Minnesota! What a beauty! I love turquoise and I love old things so I was quite excited to come across this vintage beauty. Yes dad, I know it is not a classic… but it made for a cute photo op;)
Forever 21 Top (sold out, similar) | American Eagle Shorts | Franco Sarto Sandals | Free People Sunglasses | Antique Store Earrings
I am sorry it has been a while since my first post. This whole blog thing is more complicated than you would think. Anyways. I wanted to share with you some pictures of my trip to Cabo San Lucas back a few months ago. I found this top at a consignment store and this was the beginning of my obsession with anything “off-the-shoulder.” If you have long arms like me you may fall in love with off-the-shoulder tops as well because the sleeves do not have to be as long for you to feel comfy and look decent. I love pairing off-the-shoulder tops with a choker or a shorter necklace or in these pictures some statement earrings. Once I opened my suitcase in Mexico I realized the amount of these tops that I packed was a bit excessive. But how can you not fall in love? There is a reason they are the newest rage.
Although my blog posts are not up to date and full of pictures from Cabo, check out my Instagram where I posted quite a few outfits from my trip!
Free People Poncho (sold out, similar) | Rock Revival Denim (sold out, similar) | Moto Boots (sold out, similar) | Nordstrom Long-Sleeve Top (sold out) | Antique Store Bracelet
Ponchos are one of my absolute favorite things to wear in the winter. The idea that you basically get to stroll around wearing technically a “blanket with a hole for your head” makes me oh so very happy. This particular poncho (one of my countless collection) is from Free People and I wear it on a weekly basis during the colder mid-western months. I layered it over a sheer blouse on this day, but most of the time I only wear a tank top underneath! Pair a poncho with some skinny jeans and booties and you have an easy, trendy outfit that looks like you had to try a lot harder than you did to look great!
On a different note, thank you so much to my good friend Madi Stahl for this fun, first photo shoot! I look forward to sharing more pictures from Madi and a lot more fashion ideas from myself! Check out my Instagram for lots of pictures from my latest vacation in Cabo San Lucas!
